Customization
Learn how to customize WUCall's behavior.
Can I customize the SMS message?
Yes! You can customize the auto-reply message for each rule:
- Go to Rules in the app
- Tap on a rule to edit it
- Modify the Message field
- Save your changes
The default message is: "Thank you for calling, what is it about?"
You can personalize this to match your style or include your name.
How do I create custom rules?
- Go to Rules in the app
- Tap the + button to add a new rule
- Configure the rule:
- Name: A friendly name for the rule (e.g., "International calls")
- Phone prefixes: Number patterns to match (e.g., "+44" for UK numbers)
- Action: Whether to reject calls and send an SMS
- Priority: Lower numbers = higher priority
What are phone prefixes?
Phone prefixes are the beginning of phone numbers used to match calls:
| Prefix | Matches |
|---|---|
+1 | US and Canada |
+44 | United Kingdom |
+336 | French mobile |
+337 | French mobile |
+331 | French landline (Paris) |
| (empty) | All numbers (catch-all) |
You can add multiple prefixes to a single rule.
How does rule priority work?
Rules are evaluated in priority order (lower number = higher priority):
- When a call comes in, WUCall checks rules starting with the lowest priority number
- The first matching rule is applied
- If no rules match, the call rings normally
Example:
- Rule A (priority 10): Block +336, +337 (French mobile)
- Rule B (priority 20): Block all unknown
A French mobile number will match Rule A first.
Can I temporarily disable screening?
Yes! Simply tap the shield button on the home screen to toggle protection on/off. Your rules and settings are preserved.
